Black Sails
A immersive walk inside the world of Caribbean piracy promotes the new 2014 Starz tv series
TWC Studios celebrated six days pre-gaming the 2014 Superbowl with partner activations at the Highline Stages in New York City. Partnering with Starz, we presented a unique and immersive experience promoting the new original series which explores the dark world of pirates during the height of the early 18th century Caribbean piracy. Over 10,000 guests visited the ship and beach-themed experience, which featured 4 rooms, each detailed with custom design elements, special effects, stylized props, and key branding opportunities. The set was designed to activate guests' visual and aural senses while integrating augmented technology to mimic the sense of being on water. In the galley, while one's horizon moved up on the right, the horizon on the left would move down creating the sensation of movement. Lamps and pulleys suspended from the ceiling swayed side to side to accentuate this feeling. Graphics with quotes and images of characters from the show were built into the set to be viewed as one moved through the experience.
